Infrastructure & housing task force

We engage with regional and state government organizations to develop plans for improved infrastructure and housing development.

We connect developers with state and local resources to improve housing, while working with local and state government to advocate for more programs and housing development tools to enable growth. We collaborate on Land Bank Authority projects with Marquette County and Brownfield projects with Build U.P.

In the past five years, we have seen increased investment in infrastructure in Kingsford, Iron Mountain, Norway, and Breitung Township.

The City of Kingsford completed a $8.4 million water main and service line replacement project in the Kingsford Heights neighborhood, and continues it multi-year, multi-million-dollar project to complete the Kingsford Heights and the Ford Addition water mains and service lines.

The City of Iron Mountain was awarded an approximate $600,000 Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) Grant to identify lead-contaminated water lines. It is continuing to identify water services containing lead components and replacing those that contain lead and will begin a major water and sanitary sewer replacement project starting in 2026.

Norway is in the process of identifying any remaining water services that contain lead components and require replacement. Breitung Township is undertaking a project to upgrade the water system in East Kingsford.

We support the enhancements to the Dickinson Trail Network and expansion of Dickinson County Ford Airport.
